Our country has seen a crazy high second wave of Covid, and it feels impossible to be excited about things sometimes. But when my doorbell rang the other morning and it was #bookmail from the lovely folks over at Jonathan Ball Publishers , I couldn’t help but squeal!

I have been thinking about adding more non fiction titles to my review list. So when it comes to non fiction I decided I am going to add titles to my list that is YA applicable. Who says we can’t conquer the world in our twenties? (Well, I’m turning thirty this year, but I still feel like 25) I have met phenomenal people who have achieved amazing things by the time they’re 30, so yeah why not. We all bloom at our own pace.

As a business owner and entrepreneur, I often find it difficult to find the right Non-fiction books to read. There are fantastic books on leadership out there, but with the ever changing technological and economical landscape, I find that a lot of what is written is now common knowledge. Which, don’t get me wrong, is fantastic, but it makes it increasingly difficult to find something that will teach or enlighten you.

Writing Non-fiction reviews is so much harder, as no two Non-fictions are alike. My biggest issue with Non-fictions are that they can become tedious, quickly. This one however, is so captivating I found myself rereading several chapters for all the amazing business gems.

How to Lead filled that gap for me. I’m not the biggest Non-fiction reader to be honest. I’d rather peruse a cookbook or a craft book when I’m not getting lost in my fictional worlds. But this book! Oh my, I cannot stop. I absolutely adore this book. This is definitely one of those books that will be on all my gift lists this year.

What struck me most about this book, was how each person achieved success at different stages in their lives. There is no one right way, no golden ticket. Your journey is your own.

I don’t write in my books 😱 but I do use my brightly coloured sticky tabs to flag all the inspiring quotes and amazing lessons these non-fiction treasures contain.

Wisdom from great minds like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Phil Knights, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, Melinda Gates and many more will have you filling notebooks of ideas on your legacy, passion projects, leadership tips and many more.

How to lead is a collection of interviews with this generation’s industry giants on business, daily routines, management styles and secrets to their success. And I can’t stop reading. It’s a treasure trove of secrets and definitely a title I would encourage every person who dreams of their own business or growing their current ones to pick this up immediately 

The writing is so easy to follow and the responses so entertaining that you easily forget that this is a non-fiction business book. It’s so easy to imagine yourself sitting there and listening to these conversations.
