(Loveboat, Taipei #1)
What is the last book that pleasantly surprised you?
I loved this story. Vibrant, fun and full of life. This coming of age story had me cringing, laughing and breaking a sweat as we danced through the pages.
I love the way the author immersed the city and culture of Taipei into this story. I absolutely want to learn more and experience this beautiful place first hand. Filled with rich history and culture this setting had me dreaming of the sites and sounds so vividly described.
Young and fun characters that bring the banter, the drama and the *gasp* scandals to life are so easily relateable. With an upbeat pace this book was a great two day read that I will definitely be picking up again in the future.

About this book:
When eighteen-year-old Ever Wong’s parents send her from Ohio to Taiwan to study Mandarin for the summer, she finds herself thrust among the very over-achieving kids her parents have always wanted her to be, including Rick Woo, the Yale-bound prodigy profiled in the Chinese newspapers since they were nine—and her parents’ yardstick for her never-measuring-up life.
Unbeknownst to her parents, however, the program is actually an infamous teen meet-market nicknamed Loveboat, where the kids are more into clubbing than calligraphy and drinking snake-blood sake than touring sacred shrines.
Free for the first time, Ever sets out to break all her parents’ uber-strict rules—but how far can she go before she breaks her own heart?
Loveboat Reunion will be coming our way in January 2022
