Reading Caffeinated shares thoughtful, honest reviews and book features across adult, faith-based and children’s reading. Every book accepted for review is considered carefully to make sure it aligns with the direction of the blog and the interests of the Reading Caffeinated audience.

I may also accept selected fantasy, contemporary fiction, mystery or other titles that strongly interest me.

Books I’m Less Likely to Accept:

Because Reading Caffeinated is moving into a more faith-focused direction, I am currently being more selective with:
Explicit romance
Very dark romance
Erotica
Horror
Books primarily focused on occult practices
Extremely graphic content
Books with demonology names or references including demons, demonic possesion etc.

This does not mean those books have no audience; they are simply no longer the main focus of Reading Caffeinated.

Not every accepted book will automatically receive every type of coverage.

My Review Approach

All reviews reflect my genuine reading experience. Receiving a free or advance copy does not guarantee a positive review.I aim to review books respectfully and constructively. I will highlight what worked for me while also discussing relevant concerns, weaknesses, themes or content that readers may want to know about. A book that isn’t right for me may still be perfect for someone else.

Lower Ratings

If I believe a review would ultimately be unhelpful or unnecessarily damaging — particularly for a small or independent author — I may choose not to publish a full review. Where a book has been supplied as part of an organised tour or campaign, I will communicate with the author, publisher or tour organiser where appropriate.

Faith-Based Books

Christian books will be reviewed thoughtfully alongside Scripture. A Christian label does not automatically mean I will agree with every theological statement or interpretation presented in a book. Where relevant, reviews may discuss whether a resource encouraged engagement with Scripture, how clearly its ideas were presented and how useful I found it personally.

My reviews are not theological endorsements of every statement made by an author.

Children’s Books

For children’s books, I may consider:
Suggested age range
Illustrations and visual engagement
Read-aloud quality
Language and accessibility
Educational or faith value
Durability or format where relevant
Themes and messages
Whether I believe children are likely to return to the story
Please include the intended age range when submitting children’s books.

NetGalley titles
Digital ARCs
Physical books, subject to availability and location
Physical review copies are appreciated but cannot always be accepted.

Timeframes

Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks where possible.
Longer books, campaign schedules and current review commitments may require additional time.
If you have a fixed publication date or campaign deadline, please include it clearly in your request.
