Belladonna by Adalynn Grace takes readers on an enthralling journey through a world of magic, intrigue, and deadly secrets. I am absolutely drawn into this story world with it’s dark romance, supernatural atmosphere and thrilling storyline.
A little bit of whodunnit, and a lot of coming to age. Picture Enola Holmes meets House of Hollows and you will totally understand why everyone, and yes I mean everyone is raving about this story!
The characters in Belladonna are vibrant, multi-dimensional, and incredibly engaging. Signa, as the fierce and resilient protagonist, captures our hearts with her determination and vulnerability. The supporting characters are equally compelling, each bringing their own complexities and motivations to the story. Grace excels at creating relatable and authentic characters that readers will root for and emotionally invest in.
The magic system is unique and intricately woven into the story, adding depth and wonder to the narrative. The author’s attention to detail and imaginative storytelling make the world of Belladonna come alive. The plot of Belladonna is intricately constructed, filled with unexpected twists and turns that keep readers guessing until the final pages. Grace expertly balances action-packed sequences with quieter moments of introspection, allowing the story to unfold at a compelling pace. The gradual reveal of secrets and the escalating stakes create a sense of urgency that propels the narrative forward, leaving readers eagerly turning the pages.
Grace’s writing style is lush, evocative, and immersive. Her prose is eloquent, painting vivid imagery and crafting atmospheric scenes that transport readers into the heart of the story. The dialogue is engaging and authentic, further enhancing the reader’s connection to the characters. Grace’s ability to create tension, evoke emotions, and weave intricate plot threads showcases her talent as a storyteller.
With book 2 out soon, I can definitely recommend heading to the store and getting yourself a copy as this one is not to be missed.
A story that is to die for! (bad book pun?)
Adalynn Grace is a powerhouse writer with a brilliant voice. Her characters, although historical, feel relatable and charming. I honestly could not put this one down.
