Synopsis
In Fated in Ruin by L.A. McGinnis, the stakes are higher than ever — and not just because of the fangs involved.
Our heroine makes a deal with the devil — Malachi Draven — to protect her family, her mate, and the king she loves. But the castle walls hold more than political games. They hold secrets that could shatter her world.
She’s ready to kill Malachi at the first opportunity… until the truth he reveals forces her to question everything. And while their dangerous, forbidden attraction burns hotter than blood in the veins, an even greater threat looms: a cursed monster only she can defeat.
Loyalties will break. Hearts will bleed. And the fate of the kingdom will hang in the balance.

Detailed Review
If enemies-to-lovers had a wicked, velvet-lined throne, Fated in Ruin would be sitting on it with a smug smile and a dagger in its hand.
This third installment in the Nocturne Vampire Clan series takes everything you loved from the first two books — the ruthless politics, the dangerous alliances, the high-stakes seduction — and injects it with even more blood-soaked tension.
What makes this book sing is the moral complexity. Our heroine isn’t a perfect warrior or a lovesick fool — she’s both blade and heart, making impossible decisions while trying to protect everyone she cares about. The way McGinnis weaves the heroine’s inner turmoil with the external chaos of coups, betrayals, and cursed beasts makes for a compulsively readable story.
And Malachi Draven? He is the perfect example of an “I hate you… but please keep talking” villain-love-interest. Dangerous. Magnetic. Infuriating. The kind of character you want to slap and kiss in the same breath.
By the time the book hit its final, cliff-dangling scene, I was clutching the pages and whispering “no no no” — knowing full well McGinnis has us exactly where she wants us.
