A huge thank you to @penguinbookssouthafrica for #gifting me a copy of this book.
So when this amazing #bookmail arrived, hubby and I were ecstatic! We both hate diets and love comfort food, and with my gluten challenges we have been struggling a bit to find great recipes to build a meal plan around.
Eating healthy has never been this delicious!
About this book:
The Flexitarian Foodie is a collection of proudly South African, budget-approved, family-friendly recipes that show how achievable it is to eat delicious real food and live consciously and mindfully, no matter the situation. With just a few tweaks, even the most carnivorous amongst us can be convinced that eating more veggies and less meat is attainable and enjoyable. Eating and living an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, big-life change.
We are so excited about this book, we’ve already made 5 delicious recipes. And we are blown away. Will definitely share more of our favorites with you, but right now I’ll be snacking on my delicious cumin glazed carrots and sweet potato fries – completely guilt free
As part of our new healthy lifestyle, the Hubs and I have decided to try and include as many of the recipes from #theFlexitarianFoodie as we can. @the.flexitarianfoodie has made conscious living easily attainable with these delicious and easy to follow recipes.
We have tested them out with the family and there are some fast favorites already. Of course it had to be the Peanut Butter and Jam loaf to my dismay. (I really don’t like peanut butter) We also tried some new, interesting recipes like the Green eggs (featured in the photo) inspired by Dr. Seuss.
I was hesitant about this one at first, but at the end of the day, it was so good, I finished the plate. All the recipes are easy to follow and will have those picky eaters intrigued enough to try. So set the table!
This recipe book brings you your favorite comfort food in healthy alternatives, with quite a few gluten free options as well. We have even tried the vegetarian twist on one the other night and we couldn’t get enough.
With everything from breakfast to tea time treats, this is a must for any cooking shelf!
You don’t need a lot of experience to create these #insta worthy dishes. The recipes are straightforward, and use basic cooking utensils. So no extra purchases needed! I mean this peanut butter and jam loaf was made using our Nutri bullet blender. And according to the family it is absolutely delicious! (they have made it several times now)
If you’re looking for a healthy version of family favorite recipes, this is definitely a book for you!
