A Vow so Bold and Deadly

I finally got my copy of A Vow so Bold and Deadly by @brigidkemmerer and now I can’t wait to dive right into itđŸ’•đŸ€©

@octothorpereaderleorak and I have been counting down the days for this one, being the loyal #cursebreakers that we are. This is definitely one of my favorite story worlds and I can’t wait to see what Emberfall’s destiny is in this thrilling final installment.

Mmmmmm….maybe I should do a reread of the first two, you know, just incase😉

About this book

Face your fears, fight the battle.

Emberfall is crumbling fast, torn between those who believe Rhen is the rightful prince and those who are eager to begin a new era under Grey, the true heir. Grey has agreed to wait two months before attacking Emberfall, and in that time, Rhen has turned away from everyone—even Harper, as she desperately tries to help him find a path to peace.

Fight the battle, save the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Lia Mara struggles to rule Syhl Shallow with a gentler hand than her mother. But after enjoying decades of peace once magic was driven out of their lands, some of her subjects are angry Lia Mara has an enchanted prince and a magical scraver by her side. As Grey’s deadline draws nearer, Lia Mara questions if she can be the queen her country needs.

As the two kingdoms come closer to conflict, loyalties are tested, love is threatened, and a dangerous enemy returns, in this stunning conclusion to bestselling author Brigid Kemmerer’s Cursebreaker series.

If you have to go outside, do you take a book with you?

I’m one of those people that refuses to go if I can’t take a book with. But at the same time I really don’t want my books to get damaged. That is why I love my collection of @the_bookshelf_experience book sleeves. They are soft and fluffy and well padded to give your book the best possible protection.

Lee is such a phenomenal person and you can see all the love and care she puts into every piece she makes.

I finally got around to finishing this trilogy by @brigidkemmerer and boy oh boy, I am experiencing all the feelings!

Okay, so firstly I totally understand why there are conflicting reviews about the third book. And honestly, for me it boils down to preference.

As with the first two books, the third is well paced, with a lot of build up. Now here lies the thing. Kemmerer writes these really cool fighting scenes, but they seem too short in comparison to the rest. This can cause a bit of a dragging effect through some of the chapters (I didn’t find them to be unbearable, but that might just be me.) The only thing I didn’t like was the ‘extended’ ending, as I have started referring to it. I felt the book reached a fantastic conclusion a bit earlier, but once again if you prefer a more definite ending you might like it.

Other than that I was once again swept up in this story world, blazing through the pages. She masterfully threw in plot twists and conflicts to keep the story moving, and managed to write 4 POV’s with a flow that I rarely experience with so many multiple POV books.

Over all, I enjoyed this series. And it will definitely be something I reread.
